Calendar with a "K"...
Why is Calendar spelled with a “K” on the Episcopal & Churchman’s Ordo Kalendars?
The Rt. Rev. Barry Yingling, the editor for both the Episcopal and Churchman's Ordo, tells us that in Latin, calendar is spelled with a “K” (Kalendarium). This latin spelling has stuck over the centuries, even in the Anglican traditions. He believes that this has stuck because it helps us to differentiate a liturgical calendar from a civil one. So, when you see Kalendar, you know that what will follow is ecclesiastical and not civil. If you have any further questions on the topic, you are able to visit the Editor's Page for correspondence information.
